Lupin Flower Cookies
A Ritual of Earth, Nourishment & Quiet Power
These lupin cookies are a devotion to the Earth—high-protein, grounding, gently floral, and made with intention. In the Priestess Kitchen, baking is never rushed. It is a dialogue with the plants, the body, and the unseen field that listens when our hands move slowly.
Lupin, a legume long associated with resilience and nourishment, offers both sustenance and subtle sweetness. When prepared with care, it becomes a medicine of steadiness—perfect for anchoring prayer into form.
✧ Ingredients (Makes ~12 cookies)
Dry
- 1 cup lupin flour (fine, food-grade)
- ½ cup almond flour
- ¼ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of sea salt
Wet
- ⅓ cup raw honey or maple syrup
- ¼ cup olive oil or melted grass-fed butter
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Priestess Additions
- 1–2 tsp dried lupin petals (food-safe), finely crushed
- Zest of ½ lemon or orange
- A whisper of cardamom or cinnamon
✧ Preparation Ritual
- Prepare the Space
Light a candle. Take three slow breaths. Place your hands over the bowl and set an intention—nourishment, grounding, love, or quiet joy. - Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a ceramic or wooden bowl, combine lupin flour, almond flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir slowly, clockwise. - Blend the Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk honey (or maple), oil or butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth and luminous. - Unite Earth & Water
Gently fold the wet mixture into the dry. Add lupin petals or citrus zest if using. The dough will be soft but cohesive—do not overmix. - Shape with Care
Using your hands, form small rounds and place them on a parchment-lined baking tray. Press lightly, as these cookies hold their shape. - Bake
Bake at 175°C / 350°F for 10–12 minutes, until just golden at the edges. The centers will remain tender. - Rest & Receive
Allow the cookies to cool fully. This is when their flavor settles and deepens.
✧ Serving as Medicine
Serve with herbal tea, morning sunlight, or shared quietly with someone you love. These cookies are grounding rather than sugary—meant to nourish the nervous system, stabilize blood sugar, and remind the body it is held.
They keep well for several days in a sealed container and freeze beautifully.
✧ Priestess Note
When we bake with plants that have fed humanity for thousands of years, we remember something older than recipes—
we remember how to listen.
May these lupin cookies carry steadiness into your kitchen and sweetness into your days.
